Stylish apart-hotel with rooftop in Munich

The recently opened Wunderlocke Hotel is located in a former Siemens office building in the Obersendling district and was designed by interior architect Holloway Li. Aside from the stylish apartments, WunderLocke has a large co-working area, café, meeting and event spaces, and a heated outdoor pool, sauna, and studio.

The building's concrete shell is filled with select furniture and enhanced with natural colors and materials. The terrazzo staircase dates back to the 1960s, and the curved timber reception desk and plush green seating in the co-working area highlight the vintage mood. The color scheme is anchored by earth tones and botanical greens, referencing the nearby Grünwald Forest.

The spacious rooms are colored in blue and green and feature a lounge area and kitchenette. All the top-floor suites have rooftop terraces, but the WunderLocke Penthouse is one to write home about. The 126 square meter WunderLocke Penthouse Suite's highlight is a stand-alone bathtub, and a mural from local artist Monika Morito makes it very fashionable.

WunderLocke is also home to a food and drink concept in Germany in the form of 'Mural Farmhouse' – five food and drink destinations spread over seven floors conceived by the founders of the revered Michelin-starred local restaurant, Mural. The seventh-floor Mural Farmhouse Bar is a party spot with padded walls, rich wood paneling, a glam vibe of 1980s Italian nightlife, and Munich views.
